Date: 2nd August 2011
Place: Airlie Beach
Weather: Sunny but windy again
The guys eventually got up so we could all go and get breakfast. They then started packing up as they were leaving. They are doing the east coast by car so could leave at any time they wanted. I wanted to drive their car but after being given the key by Angus Joe took it off me and wouldn't let me drive.
They left at 11 and I didn't realise how sad I would be to see them leave until after they were gone. Suddenly being alone made me feel majorly homesick for the first time on the trip; almost tearful which wasn't nice! I distracted myself by heading to McDonalds where I enrolled for uni and applied for accommodation.
On my way back I bumped into Laura who had just got off her boat trip and I said I would meet her at the lagoon after I just go and get some bits from the hostel. When I went to the Lagoon I couldn't find her though and instead bumped into Georgia and another girl I went to Fraser Island with. I chilled with them for the rest of the day before heading back to the hostel to have dinner.
I couldn't believe it when I bumped into a guy called Matt who I had spent Christmas Day with in Sydney. I thought I recognised him when he walked past the day before but I asked him if he was called Matt and he was! He was just on holiday with a friend this time and had already been home as well.
I thought I would have a chill out night since I was getting up at 6am the next morning. I bought 24hours of internet and started updating all my blog and pictures. I did want to download some new music to update myself but I ran out of time and fell asleep.

Gran Meeting people at that lagoon sounded impossible! You did well in combating the sudden bout of homesickness, and it wasn't long before you were with friends again. The "small world" experiences go on and on don't they?... thinking of Matt this time, soon after Hannah from Sixfields.
