We had a nightmare 9 hour coach journey from Bogota, which crosses one branch of the Andes. We thought we were going to be killed many times as the driver struggled to maintain control of the bus as he overtook buses which were overtaking other buses on blind corners in the dark rain.
we arrived in Armenia which is one of biggest towns in the coffee belt. This is the hilly, lush green coffee growing area and the scenery is gorgeous. there are little fincas everywhere and everyone wears sombreros and ponchos and is about 5 feet tall.
We ares staying in a little village in the hills called Salento, we have been walking around coffee plantations and looking at the massive bamboo trees. Its very cloudy here and humid, tomorrow we´re getting up at dawn to go walking in the cloud forest!
