My mom and I spent the entire weekend traversing San Antonio, and there is NOTHING more beautiful than the River Walk! While it was crowded, braving the sun and the tourist population is well worth it. We meandered along with the San Antonio River, walking over little bridges, waving to people on river boat tours, and picking out which restaurant we wanted to eat at based on how awesome their outdoor seating was. We had to eat at the obviously touristy Rainforest Cafe one night, which did not disappoint, and the other night we ate at Boudro's on the Bank. The food and atmosphere at both of these establishments was fantastic; we sat at a table with a huge elephant at the Rainforest Cafe (ironic considering I work with elephants) and at a cute little table literally inches from the river itself at Boudro's.
We absolutely loved how the building styles and even the bridges and walkways themselves were really all quite different yet somehow flowed together perfectly. Our hotel, Omni La Mansion, was AWESOME!! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to stay right in the heart of the River Walk area. All in all, everyone should go to San Antonio if given the chance!
