My mom and I spent the entire weekend traversing San Antonio, and there is NOTHING more beautiful than the River Walk! While it was crowded, braving the sun and the tourist population is well worth it. We meandered along with the San Antonio River, walking over little bridges, waving to people on river boat tours, and picking out which restaurant we wanted to eat at based on how awesome their outdoor seating was. Today we went to one of the meccas of the non-wild animal world- SeaWorld! SeaWorld San Antonio is quite a bit smaller than SeaWorld Orlando (considering this is the 5th time I've been to SeaWorld, I know this), but it was a great park! I am very thankful for a mini-vacation with my mom to San Antonio this weekend! Today we headed just north of San Antonio to Natural Bridge Cavern, where we spent about an hour walking through the beautiful cave system. There were all sorts of stalagtites, stalagmites, columns, ribbons, drapery, cave bacon, and fried eggs- sort of makes you hungry just thinking about it... One of the other things we visited today was the Alamo. I was surprised by the size of the building itself; it's tiny! It's hard to believe so few people defended this building all that time ago. Unfortunately, the area surrounding the Alamo is now smothered in tourist traps (okay, so I may have gone into several of the Ripley's Believe It or Not attractions...they're called tourist traps for a reason), raving religious lunatics ("There is still time for the Lord...
