Lovewells vs The World
From Robyn So after landing at 2.30pm, we finally left the airport at 5pm...but by then it was rush hour so we were stuck in traffic and it took another 1.25 hours to reach our hotel in Buena Park. Walked in the lobby and our eyes went wide because there was Snoopy, greeting guests! We stopped briefly to say hi but then it was all go because we had a jousting tournament to get to! So we jogged a few blocks along the road...needed to stretch our legs anyway. The tournament at Medieval Knights was amazing and definitely worth rushing for. From Gemma: Highlights for me were being the Royal guests of the yellow team...because our knight was really skilful with his horse and his sword, and he won the competition! He chose me as a princess and gave me a flower - if you know me you will find that funny! It was fun eating the feast because you didn't get cutlery, you just have to eat with your hands. You get a huge amount of food too! As well as the Knights there were lots of beautiful horses doing fancy battle manoeuvres that were spectacular to watch. It gave me goosebumps to watch them. From Daniel: I loved every time our knight won a round of the competition and I cheered as loud as a trumpeting elephant! I waved our yellow flag and had a bit of a giggle when the knight gave my sister a flower. They put half a chicken on my plate for dinner and said it was dragon meat...yuck. The battles were spectacular and sparks flew in the swords fights. It was very exciting to watch them fight! I never thought I would have that much fun on the first night/knight. From Glen Then it was a nice meander back on a pleasant evening. We got back at 9.30pm and the pool was still open, so we took the chance for a night swim, before crashing in our beds so we will be ready for a fun day tomorrow...
