Our last day in Tuscany so we busied ourselves in the morning by the pool and then set off to visit the local tourist attraction. As well as a good church or medieval town we also really enjoy looking at stalagmites and stalactites on our travels so we visited the Grotta Del Vento (wind grotto). Although only a few miles away the drive up took 45 minutes (and years off my life!! Nothing to do with Louise's driving that has been amazing but the crazy Italian roads and drivers once more) The grotto was a refreshing 10.7 degrees as it is all year round. It is the so called wind grotto due to the fissures in the mountain side which allow the wind flow and dependant on outside to inside temperatures the wind ferocity. A beautiful cave well worth the visit but not quite as remarkable as the grottos in the Ardeche. We returned to the villa for one last dip before we ventured out to eat again. We visit a local trattoria for pizza and ravioli. Once again wowzers and on that note we headed back to pack, say arrivederci to our hosts and get ready for the early start for phase 3 of this Italian adventure.
