Carlo.....is the man responsible for the amazing surroundings we find ourselves in. The villas are impeccable, everything catered for, Mosquito blinds everywhere ( Louise has turned into the mozzie eliminator having been bitten a fair bit...... I am finding her exploits hilarious but am I laughing because so far I have been relatively unscathed by them!!) Now Carlo has fig trees, we have kiwi fruit growing outside the front door, there are apples, limes, courgettes and of course the pomodoro ( tomatoes) of which Louise has been turning into the best bruschetta ever... But if an apple falls from the tree, Carlo is there to remove it.... You could set your watch by the times each sprinkler starts and at which point the self operated lawn mower passes by..... But he has a purpose!!! Our purpose today was to head into town, eat and make our way to the towns "fiesta"
So far the food options, service and cost have been unbelievably great and tonight was no different. We had the antipasto to start, followed by steak and chips for Louise and I went a bit left field for me..... Tortellini with cabbage and meat filling with a butter sauce and truffles!!! We had the standard bottle of house red and water and then to finish the waiter plonked 2 bottles of something on our table and indicated for us to drink..... OMG lemon cheesecake shots...... We settled the bill at £15 each. We then made our way to the fiesta and duly sat with our limoncello prosecco watching 5 elderly gentleman talk to a crowd of 50 for 2 hours!! Bit disappointed that we could not understand because we did glean that the main speaker was the president of the Italian slow food movement..... Sounds interesting.....no it really does! A band were waiting in the wings, the talk over ran by several hours so eventually when the music started they played for us, their girlfriends, their mums and one man and his dog!! Shame as they were good......
