So today we headed for our "honeymoon" destination! It did mean an early start and for those of you that know us, know that ain't our thing..... However by some miracle we were up, clean, bed sheets deposited and sitting alongside the other overnight strangers at breakfast waiting for coffee!!.We were approached by a man we observed landing late yesterday evening heavily laden and in need of rest. It turns out that.... Get this.... ( by the way we love a fascinating fact) he is from Western Australia where you can choose to either have 3 months paid holiday per year or work 4 years at 80% of pay and have year 5 off at 80% pay!! Never got his name but interestingly he was a train enthusiast that was travelling the rail lines of the world (not for the first time). He was ending at the model train convention on Birmingham via America...Already loving the hostel aspect to things, everyone with a story and destination with small talk in between that ends up being so much more! We bid our farewells to our lovely hosts and to some other crazy English, the guy that set out from London on his bike at the same time as we did and they had the cheek to shake their heads at us, like we had no luggage space....
From then on it was a pretty uneventful day, I (Sarah) had not fully researched the way I though I had; apparently the first 2 weeks of August are when the Italians head off on holiday so..... 8 hours later (instead of 3) many conversations out the the car window to mainly male car enthusiasts driving mini coopers and finally conquering my Italian driving fear ( remember just don't look down) we arrived at our destination... We arrived half and hour early so we duly set about getting our bearings and bizarrely our nearest bar is "the Flamingo Cafe". We find the nearest Carrefour extra and purchase tonight's dinner as per hostel cooking ( see cover photo). Upon arrival via a bit of an industrial estate (whereby I think we are all a bit part in another movie and start to get hysterical) the villa opens up to us and Carlo is there to welcome us. Now as you can gather I could string some prose together and keep going for sometime however I will upload the photos and just leave it at...... The place is amazing quite honestly it is like it has been built especially for us just for this week.... It's so immaculate I recommend any OCD sufferer to stay, the attention to detail is immense. The swimming pool and veg garden to gather food is just outside our door..Yep we are here until next Sat so you will hear more about this wondrous place...... It's been a long day..night
