We flew to Phuket from Samui so it want too bad and the mini bus took us to our hotel which was really nice, the best bed we have slept in since we left.

We went out to get some food it was crazy there were people everywhere trying to get us to see a ping pong shows which unsurprisingly we were not interested in. Then we got a pizza and while we were sat in the restaurant an older white man walked in with 2 Thai ladies holding him up as he was rather drunk. They all sat down and another women join them before he fell asleep. We were quite shocked as this was worse than anything we saw in Bangkok. This man was going to have no money left in the morning or be married to one of these women. This type of thing happens quite often apparently.

We then went to get a drink at another bar and it was so expensive, it had been decribed to us as the Costa Del Sol of Thailand and they were right it was awful and really smelly. We were walking back to our room and there were prostitutes lining the street up both sides. As well as loads of ladyboys some of them it was hard to tell the difference.

We are very glad we only had to stay one night as the next day we got a boat to Phi Phi but not before visiting the very dirty beach. I think its safe to say Phuket is not represetative of Thailand and very popular with tourists rather than travellers.
