Hi,
We left Bangkok after our flight and got yet another night bus to Surat Thani which is the port to the islands on the east coast, then we got a ferry which was absolutly crammed full of people health and safety doesnt exist out here the more the merrier.
I was a little annoyed by this point as they are in no rush to do anything, we eventually arrived on Koh Pha Ngan which was amazing it looked just like the pictures. White beaches, sunshine and blue seas. Sorry to make you all jealous while you are in rainy old England.
We arrived at our bungalow and it got even better not only did we have a sea view and a hammock on our balcony but we had a flushing toilet!!!! We were so excited how sad we are.
The first night there we had a power cut and it last for a couple of hours but this seems to happen quite often as they were still cooking and had plenty of candels. but we did what most normal people do during a power cut and played jenga!!!!! We managed to make friends with some Dutch guys i think the jenga attracted them. We played all night before heading back to our nice little house.
The next day we sat on the beach all day its such a hard life travelling. In the evening it was time for the famous full moon party and the main reason we came to Koh Pha Ngan. We didnt get there til 10pm our bed time normally, and got our bucket which is exactly as its sounds a bucket of drink you get a whole bottle of spirit a bottle of red bull and a mixer it last Ashley most of the night and I gave most of mine away i wasnt keen on the red bull it is worse than ours and made me feel quite sick.
We walked along the beach and saw people jumping over fire skipping ropes, twirling fire chains and sticks, there was a slide from the top of 1 bar onto the beach. The amount of people at the party was unbelievable of all nationalities it was amazing. Although people were peeing in the sea, throwing up in the sea and also getting a bit over friendly in the sea. We can safely saw we did none of this.
The party was ok but I dont think either of us would rush back to do it again, we got back to our room at 3.30, but the lads we went with got in at 7.30 and 11 the next day.
We stayed on the island the next day and just chilled on the beach again before heading to Koh Tao for a bit of diving.
