Hi all,
We only had one night in Samui and as usual in Thailand getting there was a nightmare, we booked a ferry which was fine but when we got to our first stop we were all kicked off the boat and noone told us what was happening but eventually another boat arrived to take us the rest of the way.
When we got off the boat we got a taxi to our bungalow for 80THB which is less than 2pounds but he dropped us in the middle of the town and when we asked where our bungalow was he pointed from where we had just come and said 1 minute. So we started walking in the baking heat with our back packs when Ash asked in a shop the lady had to make 2 phone calls to find out where it was. The taxi man had sent us in the wrong direction cause he had know idea and wanted us out his taxi.
We walked for about 30mins before we finally found it, luckily it was really nice so we were glad to get there. The bathroom was outside behind a bamboo fence which looked a bit wierd as you could hear people walking past but we quite like it having a shower alfresco.
We went to the main town in the evening which was quite a way from where we staying but we got a taxi and had a nice meal before there was another powercut so we had to wait a while before wandering round the shops.
I found a nice dress which Ash was bartring for and when the women wouldnt come down we walked off hoping she would follow and agree to our price but she didnt so i then didnt get my dress and couldnt go back because she would know we were interested I dont thinkwe are very good at bartring we need more practice.
The next day we sat by the pool and had a mikshake at the pool bar which was cool you just swam up and got a drink.
Then we flew to Phuket but Samui airport is very strange its like a bamboo hut with no walls and the departure lounge is on the runway so you could just wander out. It was really nice though unlike the rest of the island which didnt look great as we drove through we preferred the other two islands we had visited.
