Left for Koh Phi Phi (Don) on the ferry on Monday 28th February, but didn't have any accomodation booked! At the pier people tried to sell us their guesthouses, but we decided to walk until we found somewhere that looked nice, and ended up staying in a hostel that someone had recommended to us, and turned out to be nice.

The main town in Phi Phi is really small and there are no cars allowed in it, only bicycles and a few scooters, but these will still run you down! The town is all new, as it was devastated in the Tsunami in 2004, and you can see this as some of the palms on the beach have been left and are all broken, but they have rebuilt it all really well, really quickly, and it is a beautiful island. We tried to find the island viewpoint but walked for ages and never got to the top, so had to come back down when it started getting dark. We went to the memorial garden on the beach which was a bit odd, was an area that had debris leftover with yellow ribbons around it; but they are in the process of building a permament memorial.

The evening that we got there, we bumped into some familiar faces from our diving course, so we had a night out drinking buckets and dancing on the beach at Slinky's with some great people.

The day after in the afternoon (Ashley was a bit worse for wear) we went on a long boat cruise around Phi Phi Leh, did some swimming, some snorkelling, went to monkey island- where they were a bit aggresive and hung off one girls hair, and spent an hour on 'The Beach' where the film was made. In the evening, we experinced our first rain since we left; we just happened to be on an open rooftop bar at the time! It wasn't just rain, but a thunderstorm, strong winds and torrential rain, but it was over in an hour, so we rushed back to check our washing was still hanging on our balcony, and luckily it was there but on the floor!

Just spent our final morning on the beach before getting a ferry back to Krabi, but we both really enjoyed our time in Phi Phi! :)
