Have now left Beijing. Travelled down by luxury train which had clean toilets, separate sinks and a tv over each bunk! Sadly have decided to go for the more budget option next time but it was worth it for one journey. Now in Xi'an which has been good although there doesn't seem much to see in the city. Have walked around the major buildings, temples and towers but as they are all of the same architecture and have the same interior we've slightly given up actually going inside and just take photos of the outside! Went to visit the terracotta army today which was good, the warriors and horses are amazingly detailed and all life size. The only slight shame is the huge, modern concrete bunkers they've built over all the pits. There were loads of tourists there as well but its quite a large site so plenty of room to see everything. The hostel we're in here is not as nice as Beijing - B you left at a good time - our room wall has damp on!!! We leave tomorrow (fun 18hr train journey) to Chengdu where hopefully there's quite abit more to see.
