Day 45
We headed to the surf shop for our lesson and we were greeted by Brad. To our surprise there was no-one else booked in for a lesson, normally there would be upto 12 people to 1 instructor. Luckily for us we had an instructor each.
We started off learning the basics of how to lie on the board properly, how to paddle and then how to stand up all on the beach before we went into the water. To start off with it was really difficult to pick the right wave let alone stand up. But sure enough after not too long we were both standing up and riding the waves. There is no suprise that people get addicted to it as its so much fun.
We grabbed lunch and then we got the body boards, skimming board and a football and headed back to the beach. We went sand dune surfing again and took some wicked photos, then we thought we were co-ordinated enough to try skimming with a proper board (those of you who don't know what this is; It's a small wooden board that you glide across shallow water and then attempt to jump on). Lorna was better than Al who just gave up and wanted to play football.
To keep Lorna interested Al devised a football training session and by the end of it Lorna had learnt enough to head, volley, control and even did keep ups.
