Day 46

As part of our previous surf booking we were given 2 hours free surf board hire. We used the beginners boards again and put what we'd learnt the previous day into practice. We could stand up twice as much as the day before and we got some good photos of each other. Walking back out in the water each time was really tiring and we worked up a big appetite. So we decided to indulge on a slap up lunch.

We headed into the CBD and found a Tepanyaki where Lorna had steak and Al had octopus. Then we went to Baskin Robbins and had THE best ice cream we have ever had.

We headed back towards our hostel to use the beach shower to have a proper shower in: this water is freezing cold, and the public were walking past. One man stopped to comment on how crazy we were.

After our scrubber shower we went to the cinema to watch Ironman because this was the premiere we saw in Sydney. Then we caught the bus to Brisbane.

Once we arrived in Brisbane we had to make our way to Brunswick which was in Fortitude Valley. Our hostel looked like a prison from the outside but not even prison would be this filthy. Our bed was made up of 2 mattresses ontop of each other, there were no curtains but plenty of dirt for the rat that ran past Lornas feet in the kitchen.
