One down two to go - before I finish this blog I will have eaten all three.
The first was a french chocolate mousse which tasted devine.
Before you all put your hands up in horror and say how could she - I deserve it. Interviews through an interpreter all week with only a travel day in between is exhausting. I also stood on a set of scales for the first time since I arrived - lost 6Kg since the doctor weighed me for my medical and it was in the evening with my clothes on!!
The second was 20,000 calories a mouthful, chocolate brownie with 2 different chocolate mousses on the top. A little too sweet but guess what I managed.
Back to the week I have had. I have travelled from Pailin to PP, up to Kampong Thom then to Siem Reap, straight on to Banteay Mean Chey and today to Battambang- where I am staying a night. It somehow seems right that my last weekend in this area finishes at the Royal Hotel where it all started back in September. I have met and interviewed 35 people ranging from POEs to School Directors. I have enjoyed every interview- especially the two that I conducted in English. I have also learnt a lot more about Education in Cambodia- often by what wasn't said as much as by what was.
The third was a vanilla cream and was the best of the lot. So I have sadly put on all 6 Kg in one afternoon.
Oh by the way they were washed down with a mango shake - will my stomach survive?
To continue the calories I ate at another french/Khmer restaurant in the evening and had pasta and beer. (They had good wine but only by the bottle which I thought was OTT). Well I don't want to fade away to nothing!!

Chris Well it's nearly the season to eat, drink and be merry, so your obviously practicing for next week! Wishing you a merry Christmas and happy new year, I know I'm a week early but your feast inspired me.
