This was the perfect place to chill out! It was literally in the middle of nowhere, down a huge, huge hill and after our adrenalin filled sky dive it was the perfect place to chill out and relax! As soon as we got there we got assigned to our room, nicknamed the orgy room by other previous KiwiExperience travellers, apparently because the bunk we slept on was bascically just one huge beg, two levels and each level could fit about 20 people on. It was pretty scary but luckily no one else was staying in the other room so we all spread out and had huge triple beds to ourselves, it was wonderful. The place was gorgeous, it was a really old farm like building with a HUGE fireplace and the Rangitikei River running past, no longer than a 30 second walk away. The Australia - South Africa match (Tri Nations) was on, so the bus put together a little wager to make it a bit more interesting, so the whole coach watched that on a huge projector screen. We watched the macth whilst downing a few jugs of beer to get a bit more into the spirit. Then Liv, Fi, Joel (a Hawaiian dude we met travelling) and myself jumped into the lovely jacuzzi after the macth for a bit of a relax, it was so hot but compared to the cold outside it was amazing! Walking back we looked up to see the milky way and stars as bright as fairy lights, there can't of been any light pollution for miles and miles, it was breath taking! After that we chilled out by the fire for a bit before heading up to the huge bunk beds for a bit of kip.
The following morning some people went off horse riding and some went off white water rafting. Liv, Fi and Myself all stayed in, we weren't too keen on getting soaked and freezing trying to White Water raft, so we chilled out, packed our things, i tried my hand at fishing for the first time ever and was a bit unsuccessful, but other than that we just sat round the fire reading books and chillaxing before walking up the huge huge hill to our coach around lunch time. We spent some time on the bus travelling even further down to the very bottom of the North Island towards the 'culture capital of New Zealand' Wellington.
