Day 3 - 10th Jan leaving chapping hostel and onto Hollywood. This was the most hectic day that we had so far, and also the first day we had some real traveling whilst lugging our backpacks about! Hard is a bit of an understatement! Trying to get from Venice Beach to Hollywood wasn't as easy as we thought it would be, and the bus experience was not pleasant! We knew that Americans were crazy but I think the buses are where all these oddbods congregate, to harass new people and tourists. It seems that we were the only people on the bus who weren't mumbling to ourselves, or trying to convince anyone who would listen that we were the 'next big thing'. The funniest of these weirdoes was a middle aged man who took a shining to Vicky (she even got his address so she can write to him!?!?). He had apparently writing 12 novels to date, and shockingly none had been published! He was slightly helpful in directing us, but when he got way to enthusiastic about squirrels in a park we knew he was definitely one of the weird ones! After a long journey with our new best friends…our backpacks, we managed to find the hostel and thought the journey had ended we had arrived in Hollywood, only to walk into our hostel room to find someone asleep in one of our beds! Not so much goldilocks and the three bears, more weirdo and three screaming girls! After finding out the hostel had incorrectly booked us into a dorm, we were luckily moved into a private room in an affiliated hostel down the road! We had managed to get some tickets to see an American TV show called the 'late late show' which was at CBS, so we basically had to run there. Late as per usual! Pretty average show but we did get to see Val Kilmer and Drew Carey. Most annoying thing was the warm up guy, who basically summed up everything I hate about Americans and would not stop shouting at us 'can I get a hell yeah?'…how about no!
