Lin & Phil - Out and About in the Big World...
Hello,
Right Lin was polite in her mesage, i'll tell the truth!
The smoke and fumers in Delhi are so intense that when you blow/pick! your nose the bogies come out black! no joke!
Ive had agra belly! from drinking an iced drink which must have had tap water as the ingredient to make the ice! Ill be more careful in the future.
Upon arrival to agra we saw monkeys crawling right accross the historic railway roof and buildings... It was quite an awesome site, we make sure we keep our windows locked as they can come into your room...dont want no basement jacks - wheres your head at music video - type incidents.
The fort was as lin said absolutely mesmerising, The guide told us so many interesting facts that made it so more enjoyable.
Today we went to the Taj Mahal, it was very shiny and it made you constantly squint due to the reflection of the crystal clear white marble and imbedded jewels it has in it.
The guide was ok but rushed a little. It was very busy but what can you expect from possibly the most photographed building in the world! We bought a souvenir each (for Mummy!) - sorry wont tell you mum you'll have to wait and see, and we bought the rest of you guys erm....nothing! sorry, but i did think how lucky we were to be here while your all working away.
After originally purchasing the only remaining seats for a train to Jaipur at a cost of about 1.50 each for a 5 1/2 hour journey, we decided to avoid travelling in the 2nd worst class and have instead hired a taxi for about 15 quid each to drive us there! nearly 300km's! now thats a bargain....Dont think you can classify that as typical backpacker behaviour...or flash packer...youll have to invent your own phrase.
In the next few days well be at the wedding of our friend we met at university! good timing...Well be staying in the Sheraton Jaipur palace hotel...SWEET.
Right off to get some grub...oh yer weve really been sampling the cuisine so far, mcdonalds, pizza corner, mcdonalds, hotel restaurant (fried egg and chips)! so dont worry im really venturing out of my usual british habits. (but no beef burgers over here!)
sorry lin had a dahl and nan bread today...so its just me being unadventurous.
Take care.
Phil and Lin
