Another update from a busy ten days, as you can tell from the pictures I have been uploading, we have been kept busy over the last 10 days. I have finished work and have only got 4 more days left in Whistler (providing Daniels plane gets out).
So what has happened, well I finished work last Wednesday which was not the best final day I had some ADHD type children so trying to get them to focus was a bit challenging and one wouldn't even stand up for his photo which I think was the worst photo of my ski group ever which was a shame but oh well. Right after we finished work and got rid of the children we headed back up to ski school because they had arranged a end of year do for an hour or so which was nice. They had volleyball nets up and chicken and nachos to eat, and it was nice to be able to talk with so many of the people I've worked with all year and find out what their plans are now they have all finished.
We also had the end of year actual party and the theme was, what you want to be when you're older. So seeing as none of us wanted to spend any money on new clothes and the fact that I can't really dress up as a dog handler? Very well I went with a Lumberjack and borrowed some red braces from Lloyd and wore my red and black check shirt, I also made an axe which came out well. Nikki my house mate went as a Tattoo artist, Laura's outfit fell apart so she went as herself, Clara went as a weather lady and Lloyd went as an actor and we made a TV for him which came out pretty well. The night was good even though we got there a bit late, there were a lot of good costumes, some spandex heroes, and some Ghostbusters and even Morris Dancers.
We had a great day out group skiing and we got some nice photos together on the mountain that I will get printed off to take home and it was really nice to spend the day out with everyone, I also got to race down the Olympic Downhill track although a lot slower than the Olympians did it in. It's been very nice at the moment with the sun coming out a lot but this also means that the snow is melting, it is very odd to watch the snow disappear and seeing the runs slowly turning green instead of white and seeing what we used to ski over was actually a stream.
We've had some evenings out, going to BuffalBills which was fun evening and also going to the Cinema to watch How to Train Your Dragon which we all really enjoyed seeing, even though I slipped on the slope on the way down managing to soak the back of my trousers so that wasn't too fun. There is the Telus Festival going on at Whistler at the moment so that is interesting with lots of things going on in the village now in the day and night.
Yesterday we went out to the Lost Lake in the morning which was really nice, we got to walk through a wooded trail first to get there which was very picturesque and the lost lake was really relaxing with a little beach, we relaxed there for a few hours and then we went off to the Bungee Jump. It was really fun we all managed to do it which was great, the weirdest part of it was after I stopped bouncing and was waiting for the rope to come down so I could be pulled up. We had some nice pictures taken and I recorded everyone on my camcorder which was good and we all got a t-shirt for doing the jump as well. Our taxi driver even did his first jump as well which was great.
So now I am just waiting to hear about the volcano ash and hoping that everything goes well. Daniels flight is still set to leave so hopefully it will stay that way.
