So far Whistler is a really nice place everyone is friendly and it is really clean. I have my basic training tomorrow and then on Monday I start teaching, we will be going to teach the mini's for the first few weeks which will be interesting.

We are having trouble getting internet in our accommodation at the moment which is why I have not got around to updating this yet. We are trying to get it sorted but they have run out of ports at the moment so we need to wait for them to get some more installed.

We have had a birthday in the group already and we went out for a big group dinner which was nice, and a few of us have also gone to some other restaurants as well. I bought all my ski equipment which has been expensive but it was a necessity and got myself a new ski suit as well which is bright green.

My room mates are nice, Nikki who shares my room is 23 and friendly and she snowboards, and Becky and Laura who are both 18 and also nice and who both ski. There is 24 of us in the group so we're all busy trying to get to know each other at the moment.

It snowed a few days ago but unfortunately then rained for a full day the day after which meant all the snow has turned very icy here. The slopes here are a lot more challenging than the European slopes I have been on so I am trying to improve and might go for some more lessons as we get them free as we are staff.

I went out today for a few hours and it went well until I got onto one slope and a man fell at the top and managed to take me out down the hill. Luckily neither of us was hurt and he apologised for it and then I headed back to our apartment.

Canada has a lot of costs, it is quite expensive out here for living costs like food, clothes and other items. We have to pay $4 a month for a bank account here and we can only withdraw/use our cards 14 times per month or we get a charge of 25c. Mobiles here are also very expensive, pay as you go, you get charged for incoming texts and calls and outgoing texts and calls. So if we get 5 miss calls we get charged 25c.
