Leaving Franz Josef, we all felt a little worse for wear, apart from Jo, who we think was still drunk by the amount she talked all day!!!The poor people who sat next to her for hours on the bus (inc. the bus driver!) had to listen to her drone on about rubbish! We stopped off on the way to see the Pancake Rocks (Rocks that looked like pancakes!). We arrived in Wanaka, had dinner and watched a film and went to bed (That is why wanaka is not worth a blog!)
On our way to Queenstown we went ot Puzzle World, which was a place with loads of illusions and crazy things which is a lot of fun (thank god for no hangovers in this place, our stomachs felt dodgy enough as it was in there!) Further near Queenstown, we stopped off to watch our friends jump off a bridge, bungy jumping. All excited, we get back on the coach when our bus driver announces that a few peoples rucksacks were stolen while watching the bungy. Haha very funny, we know its April Fools Day. So we arrive in queenstown and all grab our bags apart from 2 others and Panda. Our bus driver told them it wasn't a prank and they'd have to go to the police station. This went on for a good few minutes until Panda started balling her eyes out, then our bus driver decided to give up the joke and tell her, her bag was inside the hostel!!She was not a happy bunny! someone had played a prank on Kane, our bus driver, and had actually stolen them! but kane soon found out that it was a prank on him, but he turned it round on us-evil!!!
Everybody starts getting ready for our first big night out in queenstown, with an unbelievable amount of knocks on out door (the word got round we had straightners and hairdryers!). So everyone glammed themselves up and the booze started to flow, leading to a brilliant last night with the bus as a whole.
On our third day there, Panda and jo and a few others did a canyon swing. Basically you jump off a cliff and free fall for 60m and then swing across the canyon. It was scary but worthwhile and we all came back with a big buzz of adrenilin.
Everyday in queenstown was practically the same, someone would be leaving everyday so we would HAVE to go out for drinks the night before to say goodbye. A few tears were shed as noone wanted to leave each other! Our whole time there was a bit of a blur, and our livers aren't happy at all!!! Off to Christchurch for detox........
