With a very hungover Panda in tow, we finally made it to Christchurch after the longest journey yet in New zealand. As we'd already spent a week in christchurch, we decided to do nothing for a couple of days to save the pennies and rest our poor, poor livers! So our days here were spent lounging around watching films, reading and sleeping. One day we surfaced and dragged ourselves to the botanical gardens, which was very beautiful, but cold so we ended up in a museum to warm up. Jo took a trip to the cinema to watch slumdog millionaire and that pretty much concludes Christchurch (very exciting-i know!)
After a few days of bordem, we move onto kaikora, for the second visit yet again! It's a pretty little town, but yet again not much to do. We ended up staying in the 'Love shack' through luck, which meant we had a double bed, tv and ensuite for the night sharing with 2 other girls (in our eyes-this is luxury!). Our 2 friends from our 'Kiwi bus family' were in Kaikora so it was nice to catch up with them, sitting in the sun in the afternoon and watching tv in our room in the evening. A very relaxing day but nice to be with friends. An early start and we say goodbye to the south island which was sad but we were ready for new adventures in the North. first stop-wellington.
