We arrived in Nelson bright eyed..checked into a hostel that was more like a hotel! Checked into our room and found two girls..Kate and Gemma who are from tup north..both Geordies! We formed an instant bond and decided to meet them down in the bar later on for some beer tasting! In the mean time Panda and Jo booked a trip to Abel Tasman National Park for the next day. We met the two Georides for beer tasting but then made for bed as we had an early start for tomorrow!

After an early rise and a freezing start to the day we made it to Abel Tasman National Park. We were with 5 other people from our bus who were awesome! We got a water taxi ride through the park up to Tongara Beach where we was to start our 14km trek through the park. We climbed hills and through beaches for what felt like hours. We saw some great views though and if only it was warm the beaches were gorgeous. The colour of the water was amazing..like a clear turquoise sort of colour! After our trek we sat on the beach gossiping for about 2 hours while the boys in the group carried on trekking for another 2km! We werren't up for that! The water taxi picked us up and took us back to the main land.

We arrived back at the hostel and instantly jumped into the shower to get ready for a night out with the people on our bus and the two geordie girls! We headed out into the town..hmm it was a Thursday night which was meant to be the best night out in the town and we were the only people out! Still we made a night of it and hit the drink hard! However, the bus left at half 8 the next morning..it wasn't a good start to our 6 days together!
