Nervous Turkey!
Agnes Water to Bundaberg
200km to go.....
A night on the goon with Tamber and their friends Steven and Claire was on the menu but there was one issue! We don't know where they are and with no sat navigation there is only one thing that can rescue us!
McDonald's free wifi!
Within minutes we found out the we were right around the corner from them.
One thing that has been made obvious for us both is that traveling in a camper van is very expensive (even at one dollar a day) and we are not convince that we want to travel NZ in one. There are a number of reasons for this: 1) Fuel - It's used a lot. 2) You still have to pay to park it up. 3) All camp sites are a long way away from where we wanted to be and are suitable habitats for serial killers. 4) No warm water. 5) The insurance is $30 a day 6) The company will charge you a lot if any fines or damage is done to the vehicle. 7) It's hard to properly clean and maintain it with the basic facilities we have. 8) Imagine how much it would cost if we paid $70 a day for the hire at normal price.
So......
With NZ only 5 days away we thought we'd better plan some of it.
The outcome: - hire a car ($30 per day) and stay in hostels for the north island. - Get the ferry to the South Island and board the kiwi experience coach. - On the return journey to Auckland we found a deal with Kiwi Exp to visit all the places we will miss the first time around.
Bonus. Another month planned.
This time we hit an all time low. The staff at McDonald's took petty on us and brought out free coffee we had been in there so long.
Arriving at the beach resort where Tamber work it was very classy. But at 5pm we lowered the tone when the 5l boxes of wine came out. The rest is history but there is one question.
Will they make it to work on time at 7am in the morning?!?
