Nervous Turkey!
Happy 6 months Travelling to us!
The halfway mark has arrived, it really doesn't feel that we have been away that long but when we think back to everywhere we have been and everything we have done, that is a lot of things and places! The day has arrived when the decision to leave the nest came upon us during breakfast. With many other locations on the island being advertised we decide to get a boat taxi and visit another beach. D'Lagoon beach was our choice so we made arrangements to get there. The ten minute boat ride gave us an awesome view of the small island as we bombed around its perimeter. When approaching our destination it looked small, no atmosphere and the sea was un-swimmable due to the coral and rocks. All was not lost. The main reason we came to D'Lagoon was that we could walk to other beaches named 'Turtle Beach' and 'Adam and Eve Beach', so we set off walking. Immediately we came a cross signs saying 'beware of monkeys, always carry a stick'. Matt equipped himself with a baseball bat type log and we carried on through the jungle. The next sign was 'if you leave your bags unattended, they WILL be stolen'. We were thinking "What are we getting ourselves into here?!?", but when arrived the beach was inhabitable with dead coral as its base and the water full of rocks etc. No sign of any turtles as the name suggests. After scoping it out for a while and climbing some rocks we decided not to even make the trek to 'Adam and Eves Beach' as it became clear there would be no naked couple, trying to eat poisoned apples off of a tree while a mysterious talking snake advising them otherwise, as the name suggests. Or would there be. We made the decision to head back to Long Beach and that we had a good thing going there. All other outings are out on hold as the feeling in Matt's stomach is saying 'All this Malaysian food is taking its toll!'. M & C xxxx- comments
