The search is on..... We set off early this morning to try and find a cheaper room and beat this morning newcomers to the island. When we stepped foot out of our chalet there was a scene of backpackers trawling down the beach with the huge bags. It was clear from this image that there was a very good chance we would have to take another night in our overpriced hut. We had till 11am until we had to let them know if we were staying another night. This is the system with all the accommodation, there is no forward booking , guests just let them know an hour before check out if they require one more night, hence the terrible accommodation situation on the island. The two of us were at an advantage to the rest, with no bags to carry, we were quick on our feet but after an hour of rushing round the island in the baking, humid weather and getting rejected constantly we resided to the fact that we would just try again tomorrow. Until...... We thought we would just enquire again to a place that claimed they were full yesterday on the off chance some one had check out. HALLELUJAH! Tivoli Backpackers had a room. Stupidly we had no money on us but we managed to scrape together a tiny deposit, hurried back for our belongings and made the 25 minute dash, fully laden, to our new home. Shattering work. Matt insisted on a beach massage after the mornings exhausting and crippling events. 40RM. Day 2 of nothing went by in a flash. In our mission to find the best eat on the island we are methodically ticking them off one by one. Tonight.....LAZY BUOYS. M & C xxxx
