This morning we woke up to a calm morning, no wind. That seemed very unusual. The wind stayed pretty calm during the day with just a breeze. It did make it seem hotter.
I cycled by myself to the adult training class and didn't get lost :-)
The rain came down for a few minutes on the ride so I was pretty wet when I arrived. Nothing too unusual in the class, though we did play a game of pictionary at the end which they seemed to enjoy.
In nursery school, the class I was in has 2 blind boys who are brothers. We did something new where the kids drew in some booklets some shapes from 1 to 9. It worked nicely to keep the kids interested and most did a good job. Dulla sat through the class and helped. Tony got Dulla to agree to have some photos taken in the classroom since things were going well. It's unusual to let photos be taken in class.
Tony is one of the project organizers. She's pregnant now and due in about 3 months. After that, Luke will take over for her. Tony has been helpful in providing information and making sure I'm set up for my return to Stone Town and the flight to Arusha.
After getting back, I went for a quick swim in the ocean. The water was shallow, between high and low tide which meant the water was only up to my thighs for quite a long way out. I didn't even make it to deep water. No real waves so I wasn't going to hurt myself :-)
After lunch, we had some free time and then beach cleanup for about an hour.
We has some free time again so I was able to try out my long lens with extension. It does need manual focus so I will use it sparingly.
Laura, Luke and I were in charge of the volunteer supper last night. Volunteers cook once per week. Luke and Laura chose sweet and sour vegetables, rice, breaded chicken and fish. Deserts were popcorn with sweetened condensed milk and chocolate and something they called a flapjack which is oats butter and raisins cooked. Everyone seemed to enjoy the meal.
Pretty tiring day. I was ready for bed when I went just after nine.
My cold is better but I coughed a fair amount at bed time. Sorry Geoff.
