I woke up to heavy rain on the island but was still excited to go and meet Ben at the airport in Phuket. I was picked up at 10:30 for my speedboat across to Phuket only to find it wasn't scheduled to leave for another 2hours!! It didn't actually leave Lanta until around 1:30-2pm! The rain didn't stop all day and I was relieved I'd brought my rain mac with me as everyone else was very wet!

Finally at the hotel in Patong by late afternoon I had my first hot shower in a month! It was absolute luxury!! Then off to the airport in the north of Phuket to meet Ben.

Our first day in Patong we relaxed on the beach and shopped. Ben took me for dinner at a very nice restaurant called White Box, whilst I felt a little underdressed when we got there I still had a great time. Then onto an Irish bar in Patong to people watch for the rest of the evening.

Day two, we took a trip off of Phuket to James Bond Island. It was a long drive before we got to the boat, but a great day. Through the mangroves up to a Muslim village for lunch and then onto James Bond Island. There were a lot of people though. Ben and I took great amusement from one woman who clearly thought she was a supermodel posing for photos in her bikini.

We left Patong nice and early the next day to get the speedboat back to Lanta. This time the journey was much more enjoyable with the sunshine and smooth water. Phuket was an experience but I was definitely glad to be back somewhere more relaxed.
