We thought we had better see a bit more of Queenstown before moving on so I found an awesome walking track which took us up a mountain with some 360 degree views over Queenstown. We were well inside the suggested 2.5 hours for the walk. Not a course PB as we were passed by a couple of runners! We then ventured off to Wanaka - (home to Lake Wanaka Ironman). The road took a mountain pass which twisted and turned as it climbed, the sort of road that I don't drive on! We had a slight panic when the poor old Mighty campervan had a temperature warning light come on at the top of the mountain, but it seems to be resolved by giving it a drink of water. Wanaka is situated on another beautiful lake and I found yet another mountain to climb to the best views. We are going to cycle tomorrow to give my walking sandals a rest which I have now found have got a hole in the bottom . This could be an excuse to spend some money in one of those great outdoor shops which are everywhere !
Today's amusement from Chinese travellers was on the beach at Wanaka. We had seen a lot of proper weddings in Australia and noticed a Chinese bride the other day at Lake Tekapo in her wedding dress. She then got into her camper van and disappeared . Today, on the beach a bride and groom had the camera set up, on a tripod and were doing their own photo shoot, so it must be thing to do, pack your wedding gear in your suitcase when you come on holiday and get a few different wedding shots.
So Sarah don't forget to pack the wedding dress when you next go on holiday!
