We slept well despite the fact that the duvet didn't fit the bed. I was ready to leave when I found that the showers only had cold water, still, my complaints got us upgraded and we now have a large luxury room with a balcony instead of a dark small room.
It was a dull and drizzly morning so we didn't rush and lingered in the cosy lounge drinking the free coffee.
We walked down to the lake and the forecast of thunderstorms and rain all day didn't come true but it was really cold, hats and gloves required and there was more snow on the mountains this morning. The cold weather didn't deter the tourists, the Chinese were milling around the Fairmont Hotel taking hundreds of photos, I think it is too cold for wedding photo shoots as we haven't seen any of those here. We walked along the lake and then went higher up to a tea house enjoying some amazing iconic views on the way.
We returned to have lunch on our balcony and then set off to Lake Moraine which is equally as beautiful as Lake Louise and the fact that the sun was shining made it all the better. Lake Louise is a prime spot for grizzly bears, some trails you have to have at least a group of four people walking together to scare the bears off I presume, but I am glad I didn't waste my money on bear spray, all we have seen are chipmunks and squirrels and they are really cute.
