Today, after a sturdy breakfast at the Diner, I ventured along to Pioneer Park where there were all manner of old mining town memorabilia and even an Air Museum. Bought some reasonably priced trinkets which would have been many times their price in Juneau!
Light lunch of kebab and ice cream followed by the old time music hall show (pic) which showcased Fairbanks history, starting with how it got its name- a store set up on the banks of the river. Farebanks!! There were many tents but only one bath tent!! Dirty miners!
Back to Minnie St B&B ( without the B- should be B& )
The cab driver was telling me how she wanted to go to Canada but her misdemeanours would get her refused entry at the border control.
I told her of the lack of a border control on the Skagway road!!! (Maybe there is one further down that road but she is happy for now)
Bedtime at 11pm and the sun is still shining. Woke at 1:30 thinking it was time to rise as the light was like dawn.
