Felt like a really long journey today. We're all feeling really tired for some reason, so we're all looking forward to Mt Cook where we're spending some extra nights.
We made a stop along the way to see some round boulders that apparently look like dinosaur eggs...the best bit was having poached eggs on toast!
The drive today was again a lot like English countryside, until we got closer to Mt Cook. The weather was miserable as well all day, but it doesn't matter because we have 3 nights here which is more than enough time. And what a lovely greeting we had...Mel has come to see us! Mel got here earlier today to rejoin the family and already had a family room for 4, so me, Therese, Craig and Mel are in a room together again.
We didn't do a great deal, just went to the bar for happy hour and sat chatting for a while. Damn, wish we'd stayed up to see the Man Utd game now. Watched the Rooney goal on YouTube which was a cracker!
When we stopped off at the supermarket today, we bought plenty of food to see us through the 3 nights we have here. So, tonight's family meal was Chicken Chasseur, for me, Therese, Craig, Mel and Emer. It was lovely and we had plenty of veg which we've all been craving.
The kitchen was a nightmare though. It was so busy and there's hardly any cutlery or pans etc. There's enough for people to cook one meal at a time, it's a joke.
After that we sat down for tea and tim-tams! Tim-tams are a bit like penguins and they're pretty popular in Oz and NZ. So we've retired from partying tonight. We're all so shattered, so a couple of hot drinks and then bed was just right!
