Thursday, it was our acclimatisation day so we had a little lie in, met for breakfast at 8:30 and hiked at 9:00 for one and a half hours up to Everest View Hotel (3833m), we had great views of the mountain range but unfortunately it was a tad too cloudy to see Everest, it was really sunny so we sat outside the hotel and drank tea, the 3 Australians from our flight hiked past so we joked with them about the boys still wearing their shorts. We hiked back down to Namache for lunch then spent the afternoon walking around the village and playing cards, Liam and Chris watched a documentary on Everest in a local bar. We ate tea, played more cards then went to bed.
Friday, we ate breakfast and started hiking at 7:00, back down the valley then back up again to Tyangboche (3880m) for lunch around 11:00, we could definitely feel we were hiking a lot slower today and felt more breathless. After lunch we hiked along the valley which was full of pink Rhododendrons and we even saw a view of Everest peak! It clouded up quiet a bit and started to snow as we were coming into Panboche (3995m) around 14:00, some of us started getting headaches, we put our bags in our rooms and layered up then played cards until tea. After, we all snuggled in our room which luckily had the chimney pipe going through so was toastier than the others and watched Oceans 11. The boys all still sleeping in their pants whilst Laura is in layers with a sleeping bag liner, down sleeping bag and blanket!!
