We arrived in Venice in the afternoon, where we met up with another top deck tour. Everyone took the chance to get some much needed washing done as we were all getting desperate for clean clothes.
After pizza and wine for dinner we joined the other tour in a toga party. It was shuch a fun night everyone was dressed in sheets but I must say we looked the part. Some people had too much fun and needed an abulance after passing out. Poor Scotty had to spend the night in hospital looking after Sharny, than cook us breakfast in the morning. Than to top it off our mysterious leader was no where to be found, so Scotty gave a great tour of Venice. We were quite amazed that he new his way around the city.
After the tour we saw a lace making demonstration. Lauren, Prue, Kristine, Kaitlin, and I joined forces for a gondola ride. Afterwards we had pasta at a fancy restaurant along the canals. Lauren and I took the chance to see what I thought was one of the most beautiful cathedrals "St Marco's Bascilica". Than for on of the best panormic views of Venice was up the bell tower. We met up with Prue at St. Marco's Square where we wondered through the city enjoy the many amazing mask and glass shops. I also had my first coffee in Italy "WOW". We got so carried away we didn't realise the time or that we had gotten lost. We ran for 20 minutes through what seemed like a maze following signs to the "Plaza Roma" where our bus was leaving from, in order to make dinner. Which we missed only because we thought we were late, which we found out later that the bus was later than us. But I managed to buy one of those amazing masks from the markets.
P.S. Scotty still had dinner when we got back.
