Day 1We arrived in New York in the afternoon after delays in the airport from Las Vegas. We caught three trains to our hostel which has been the worst yet. They had little facilities and was run down. If you go to Vegas do not stay in the Primm Valley. Its 35 miles from the strip, not 35 min, which is a $80 cab fare. once you get to Primm Valley the rooms are nice but there is little to do besides gamble and eat macdonals. Our flight to LA was delayed 1 hour and our shuttle bus to our hostel took 2 hours, so we spent the whole 1st day travelling to our hostel. Although our shuttle bus went through UCLA, Sun Set blvd and gave us a general feeling for the different suburbs ( mind you it only took 30 minutes to get back to the airport). We arrived in San Francisco around 1030, and caught the train into the city and hiked up one of the many hills to our hostel. After settling down we went out and caught our first cable car from union square to fishermans warf, where we ate crabs and clam chowder for lunch.
