Today we were left alone again and got on with our jobs - I went up on the roof to start sanding down and stripping paint from the timber beams up there, and Laura started to paint the garden chairs we sanded yesterday! We also put up new bug screens on the back door and the 'shed' door.
The weather was hot all morning and we'd heard it was meant to get to 37°c! By lunchtime, we were ready for another trip to the beach to cool off. When we got there, the weather began to cool off and cloud over, so after a quick dip in the sea for me, we left and went to the Surf Lifesaving Club above the beach for a drink - we paid $16 (about £10) for 2 Corona! Ouch!
When we got back to the house, Paul got home and told us he'd got the job he went for in Queensland, so they'll be moving across the country to the middle of nowhere in January! He was in the mood to celebrate so he took us to Dan Murphy's (where we'd bought our discount wine the other day) where they were doing free wine tastings in the shop! We bought a few more bottles and headed back home, where the celebrations continued with takeaway pizza in front of the telly! Another good night and day in Port Noarlunga!
