Today both Chris and Paul were at work so we had the house to ourselves. Chris had left us a note with our jobs for the morning - nothing too strenuous today! Before we started our jobs, we rang a car/campervan relocation company and added ourselves to the waiting list for a car/camper going from Adelaide to Melbourne over the next week. While we were eating our breakfast, about half an hour later, we got a call as there was a 2 bed campervan available next week with 3 days to get to Melbourne, for $5 a day plus $110 fuel allowance - bargain! So we booked that, feeling pleased with ourselves. When we got the confirmation email through later in the day, we realised it is the exact same van as we had in NZ, so at least we'll feel at home!
Our work today was to clean the kitchen and floors, sand some garden furniture, and a bit of digging. Dave made a start on the digging while I cleaned the kitchen, then we both sanded the chairs outside. It was VERY hot today - 33°c, so we decided not to venture out this afternoon, and spent the rest of the day inside the cool house.
It was my turn to cook tonight, and I made a risotto, which seemed to go down well. After dinner, we all went up to the deck to see the sunset. Later on, I rang Dawn's house and spoke to her, Mam and Dad, who were there on their weekly visit. Mam and Dad arrive in Melbourne in 2 weeks to see us, so they are getting excited. Dave tried ringing home, but got their fancy new answering machine instead, so left a message!
We went to sleep pleased with ourselves about the bargain campervan, and the fact that we spent no money at all today!
