Today was our last day and night with Jeffrey. After taking us to the Golden Gate bridge to take some photos, he dropped us off in Japantown quite early. We walked around the Japanese shopping mall for a while, calling into another book shop and a couple of gift shops after a Burger King breakfast with the waifs and strays of San Francisco! We saw a guy counting out pennies to buy a burger only to find he was short, annyoing the cashier. While we were eating another homeless guy asked if we'd buy him something to eat!
We then went to see Cars 2 in 3D at the Sundance movie theatre in the mall - really enjoyed the film and it was good value for a 3D film - $14 each! While on the green torotoise trip we stopped at a town at the beggining of Route 66 which is where the film Cars is supposed to be based. It was quite nice to see the backdrops in the film and know that we've seen them for real!
After the film we caught the bus to the Mission district and saw the oldest building in San Francisco, the Mission Dolores. We ended up going to a nice bar near Powell St station for dinner and some beers (very good nachos!) before heading back.
In the evening Chelsea got a call from a friend called Johnny and we all went to a bar to meet him. He bought us all a few rounds of drinks as he 'likes to help out other travellers' - we've met some really nice people so far on our trip!
