I didn't have work until 5 pm this evening, so accompanied Brent (Canadian room-mate) to Kewarra beach. After a spot of sunbathing, I embarrassed myself by attempting to climb the palm tree that was leaning at an angle which loads of kids had been able to climb just before- I wanted a picture at the top of it. I couldn't get up it, and had to hold Brent's hand to walk a tiny bit up the branch before smiling nervously at the camera whilst trying to remain balanced...

Brent, our Canadian roommate, has a hard drive with loads and loads of films on, so I watched Toy Story 3 today. Today was the first day that the Cairns Show was on, so I went there with Aaron and his sister, whose birthday it was. It was in the showground, and consisted of fairground rides, exhibition of livestock (I found it funny that on my day off, I was finding out about beef, and where each cut of meat came form on the cow. Whilst I was emptying the bins today, a bit of broken glass went through the bin bag and gashed my leg- it was bleeding a lot so I stifled the flow of blood with some tissue and hobbled to reception, where Dave said I had to get stitches.
