We caught our flight from Bangkok to Krabi and it took around an hour. We took a cab from the airport to our hotel, Beyond Resort. The resort was beautiful and overlooked the sea and so did our room! We checked in and then went for a walk around the resort. We lounged around the pool for the rest of the afternoon and then went and got ready for dinner. We walked along the beach to a restaurant with tables and chairs actually on the beach. I had a massaman curry and Luke had sweet and sour chicken, the food was so good and really cheap! A lizard had fallen out of the tree and landed on lukes back which was very funny although he wasn't too impressed! The walk back was also very scary, it was pitch black so we had to use our torches on our phone for light and there were so many sand crabs scuttling around! We saw some really massive ones which made me scream! We had an earlier night as the last two nights we had gone to bed really late and got up early!
The next day we got up and went down for breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast was really good and had lots of variety. After breakfast we headed into the pool but the weather was very overcast and then started to rain so we didn't stay there for too long. We went and booked a cooking class and also a boat to koh phi phi for Tuesday. The sun came out for a bit in the afternoon so we went for a walk along the beach and ate lunch on a beach front restaurant. We went to the gym in the late afternoon and then got ready for dinner. We walked 15 minutes down the road where there was a couple of restaurants and shops and ate at a restaurant called sandwich me that was rated number one on trip advisor. I had a massaman curry and Luke had a pineapple rice (that came actually inside a pineapple!) and sweet and sour chicken. The food was really good and lived up to expectations!
The next morning it was sunny for once! So we had breakfast and then chilled around the pool! The good weather only lasted till around lunchtime and then it was cloudy again for the rest of the day. We had lunch at a restaurant over the road from our hotel and then played card games until it was time to be picked up for our cooking class. We were picked up at 4.30pm and taken into Ao Nang where the cooking class was being held. We picked up 4 more people and arrived at the cooking class at 5pm. The class was great, we got to pick 6 dishes from a list, 1 of each from an appetiser, a soup, a curry paste, a curry, a stir fry and a dessert. I made vegetable spring rolls, chicken coconut soup, massaman curry paste and curry, pad Thai and mango sticky rice. Luke made chicken in papanda leaves, chicken coconut soup, panang curry paste and curry, chicken with cashew nuts and mango sticky rice. All the dishes were really nice! My favourite was my curry. At the end of the class the woman running it gave us each a certificate and a recipe book it was really well done and hopefully we can recreate our dishes back at home! We got dropped back to our hotel around 9pm and then we had to pack our bags again as we were up early to catch a ferry to an island called Koh Phi Phi.
