We arrived in Bangkok on the 22nd March in the evening at around 7.30pm. We got a taxi from the airport to our hostel and because our hostel was down a back road we had to walk a fair distance to find it with our heavy rucksacks on! We checked in and headed out for dinner straight away, we went to a local Thai restaurant and the food was great! Kerry had green curry and I had red, was very nice and really cheap! About £2 for the meal in total.
On the 23rd we went to visit a couple of the shopping malls in the new town. Central World in Pratunam and Terminal 21 in Sukhumvit. Terminal 21 was amazing, it was massive and each floor was based around a different country. After this we headed back towards our hostel and went and visited the Golden Mount temple. We climbed up around 350 stairs to get to the top and the views were amazing! In the evening we had dinner at a local rooftop restaurant where you sit on the floor and eat and it is just lit but candlelight! It was really nice and it wasn't touristy at all, just all local people.
On the 24th we went to visit Wat Summit another temple which has the biggest golden Buddha in the world and is worth £28 million! We then went to look around China town and visited Sampang market. This was a very narrow street with loads and loads of stalls selling just about anything you could think of! After visiting the market we had lunch and then walked down to the canal where we caught a canal bought back to where we were staying. In the evening we had dinner in Khao San Road, one of main and busiest roads in the area and then later in the evening went back there for a night out.
On the 25th we checked out of the hostel and took and overnight train to Chiang Mai.
