When we left Karumba we drove all day and spent the night at a little site next to Routh River. There was some water in it and Uncle Mark and Dad had a try at fishing. Uncle Mark caught a barra on his first cast only thing was it was a little small. It sat in his hand, so tiny. The next morning we drove into Undara national park and booked to do a lava tunnel tour. We had to wait so we swam in the pool and looked at the restaurant area which is made up of lots of old train carriages, we pretended we were in Narnia and traveling on the train. When we did the tour we went on a bus, the guide told us about the land and how the rocks had been laid out by lots of volcano eruptions. A big one about 190 thousand years ago caused the lava tubes. They think there are about 300, but only a few have been studied and are used for the tours. They are amazing and so huge, they are the longest tubes in the world. When we were inside we saw some micro-bats, so cute. Then we drove and camped outside at town called Ravenshoe. A really nice lady at the camp site gave us some chocolate, yum. Tomorrow Cairns.
