06/21/21 We woke up early to call about potential open sites at an Iowa state park since it is a first come first serve park on the same day. They had sites so we took off early to get there by noon. We had a great day to travel – less wind, much cooler, puffy clouds in blue skies, and green fields. We drove even more miles (212) to Lake Anita State Park in Anita IA. Really beautiful park on a lake with full hookups. We had to disconnect to back into our site. Shannon had her best day in over 6 weeks with less panting and no digging but still anxious in front of the passenger seat. We gave her 2 OTC chews (thanks Yvonne) which we've tried before but this time with better results. We also added a 12 volt fan which helped cool her. Not back to a happy traveler but we’re taking this as a “win”.
