Day 1 in the jungle!!! After our early start we had breakfast n a two hour drive to the jungle! Trekking thru streams in my lacoste, fashion trainers, our guide Nu managed it in flopflops, we went in rivers, up hills n down slippery slopes from 11 until 4 in the heat took it's toll on most of the group n sweat was dripping off is as fast as we were drinking!!! We passed snakes, frogs, spiders, huge centipedes n everything else! We are staying in a rice paddy village in the valley in the middle of the Chang mai jungle n it's exactly how I expected it to be!!! After a shower, which consisted of a hosepipe in the middle of the village with the kids laughing at me and pigs and cows only metres away, we had a 3 hour wait til our Thai curry and potato tea so I decided to take Nu, off to borrow a volley ball from the local children for a spot of netball practice! After declining his suggestion that we stay in our own place n make baby I was playin quite happily with sum tiny lil kids until their older brothers came along n changed our nice lil game to foot n head volleyball, with a hard ball n my ankles now slightly sore but I think i impressed em wiv my skillz!!! In bed now on a very hard surface, listening to a variety of very very loud animals!!! The dogs sound like wear wolves n get this, we hav jus heard a gun shot, yes this is no typo, an actual gun shot ha ha. Best try n get sum sleep before we get trekking agen tomora n ride their pet elephants! Nite :0) xx
