Kyles worldwide travels
Hello all,
Leaving Binto was hard, as it was so clean and friendly. We now headed to the Pantanal, which is a large wetland the size of France.
We had a private bus take us to the Pantanal, which got bogged due to the rain which didn't want to stop. We were all ready to get out and push the bus (well ok it was only a mini van..but still!!) but our useless tour guide didn't want to get out and push so no one was aloud out of the bus...the poor driver spent about 20 mins moving the bus back and forth until we got out....it gave a bit of excitement to the drive, which can get very boring after a while.
Our accommodation is completely surrounded by water, which the mossies love but they don't like me so i'm safe...not one bite!!!
Our first activity (after everyone put on so much insect repellent, we all stank of it!!) was to fish for Parana...we all had funny looks on our face when Fabion the local guide said that!!! Thank god we did catch a thing...
Fabion took us on a night walk through the wetlands, we could all hear heaps of animals in the trees and the water. We were all standing on the walkway, which runs around the property, when Fabion jumped into the water and comes out with a baby croc...the guy is my hero!! I have some great pics of me holding it...i was petrified but did it anyway - i know what you are all saying ¨what the hell has happened to our city chick Kyles??¨ i have to agree it is all strange to me too...hehehehe
The following day we went for a jungle walk...which i wasn't all that into. It was through water which came up to my knees and jungle which had heaps of bugs...so needless to say i wasn't all that impressed with that part of the day. The best part was sleeping in the hammocks for hours after lunch...that's my kind of day!!!
On our finally day in the Pantanal we went on a boat down the Pantanal river, we even went in for a swim. You couldn't't see the bottom and it was really muddy but the water was beautiful. You had to watch the current if you weren't careful you would end up down river....and i didn't want that!!
Our time in the Pantanal was over and it was time to head to Corumba for the night so we could take an early flight to Santa Cruze for one more night so we could take an early flight to Sucre...we do allot of staying over night just so we don't over do it on the coaches...i think this is a lolly pop tour - we have a few princes who don't like to over do it!!! I think i'll do a camping tour next time!!
Our next stop is Sucre....
