Finally we eventually managed to get ourselves to the coast.. And despite the rainy forecast for the week, we only had one wet day so we made the most of the weather, stayed 7 days and rented bikes down to the beach 5 days in a row.! When we arrived everyday at the beach we were greeted by locals who said we weren't allowed to take our bikes near the beach and had to leave them with them.. For a small charge of course.. 10,000 dong (30p) How Much...!!? hmm no way were we paying someone to watch our bikes.. So we ended up biking further down and locked them up in the trees and strolled on the beach.. Dad would be proud!
One of the highlights of our stay in Hoy An was definitely the all you can eat breakfast buffet. Ooooo. My first morning saw me eat through:
4 fried eggs
1 omelette
8 pieces of toast
7 pancakes with syrup
4 bananas
2 coffees
And a bowl of fruit.
Absolutely filled my boots. At least I only had to have a small lunch! We were only booked in for 3 nights at the hostel but only stayed so we could have the breakfast everyday!
We said before coming to Vietnam we were going to have a dry spell for a while after Laos.. But everywhere we went we saw signs for fresh beer for 10p... Well it would've been rude not to tbh.. So we had a couple each night. The fresh beer was actually tastier than bottled as there were no preservative in it. Happy days.
