I woke up this morning when Darren told me he was heading to the hospital for an ear ache. And as soon as he woke me up I found I had it too! World of pain. So we went to walk to the hospital together, and had to ask a lady for directions, who told us about a doctor service that visits you in your hotel, so we went back and asked about that. I think it wasn't available because it was a Sunday, but I also think the guy at reception didn't know what we were talking about! So we looked at a map and went to walk down to the hospital again. We gave them our info and didn't have to wait too long until the nurse saw us. She gave us something for the pain and we went to wait in the next room. I don't know what the painkiller was, but it was a strong one, and kicked in for me all of a sudden. Sweet sweet relief! We waited a while longer and the doctor saw us. We both got different diagnoses' though, which was very strange... Apparently Darren's is an ear infection and mine is just blocked up wax that had moved to my middle ear. They gave us some prescriptions and we headed off. Not so bad after all, we only had to wait for less than 2 hours total. Maybe we can do a review of the best emergency rooms of Europe!! As we headed back to the hostel we were both feeling really strange, dizzy and light headed from the pain killers, so we stopped for some food. I got a couple of croissants and Darren got some sort of hot dog roll thing. We got back to our room and slept for ages, sleeping off the effects of the drug. We didn't wake up until around 4pm! When we woke up we went for a walk to a pharmacy that was open (everything around here is still shut on a Sunday, its quite strange being such a big city!) and got our medications. I was feeling really gross by then, I don't know if it was the ear thing or the codeine, but as we were walking back I had to stop for a spew in a bin... At least no one was around... We went back to the hostel and chilled out and slept for the rest of the afternoon. Around 9pm we forced ourselves to get up, got ready and headed down to the metro. We only went two stops, and got out to see the Moulin Rouge in front of us! There was a big circular fan thing that was blowing air up Marilyn Munroe style, which was full of people getting photos. Darren went up on it for a photo then we went over to the massive line that went halfway up the block and waited. I was starting to feel pretty gross again and just wanted to sit down, but couldn't. (I had my eye on a bin nearby just in case though!) Eventually the line started moving and it went pretty fast, so I was able to sit down, which made me feel much better. Our seats were really good, at the front of the balcony looking from the side of the stage. The room looked amazing, with little red lights on every table. We got some champagne, which came with our tickets, so I thought I might have just one glass. Darren was thinking the same too... Looks like Lyles getting drunk! The show started and it was just amazing! The girls came out with their boobs out, but it wasn't seedy at all, it was extremely classy and they had amazing costumes and were just beautiful! One of the guys who was performing that was my favourite was funny because he was so extremely gay. You could tell in every move he made, it was pretty funny. There was a guy that came in after a few of the dances who did a juggling act, which was pretty funny and very clever! He even juggled with his mouth, it was so strange! Then he was juggling the balls and using them to play a drumkit before catching them, it was awesome. My favorite part of the show was when the front of the stage came off and a giant pool filled with massive live snakes came up from the floor! One of the girls took most of her costume off and jumped in and dove and twirled in the water while playing with these massive pythons and wrapping them around her. It was so cool! The rest of the show was amazing, they even had some Shetland ponies and a little dog and a ventriloquist act! Towards the end they did the can can with their amazing costumes, and finished up with even more extravagance! It was such an amazing show and well worth all those Euros! After the show we got some photos on the giant fan thing then started the walk down the street to the hostel, cos the metro was closed. The boys grabbed a pizza slice on the way and we made our way through what seemed to be a bit of a dodgy neighborhood before getting back to our area and heading to the hostel and going up to bed.
