Kya Travels
We got woken up early this morning by the same lady who had woken us last night rustling through her plastic bags again for about 20 minutes. Then leaving and doing it again another two times! Then she decided to leave the door open (so she didn't have to use the key to get in and out) and go into the kitchen to make herself breakfast, and started banging around the pots and pans! So annoying!! Eventually she left and we were able to get back to sleep! We slept in quite a while, then when we got up, we walked down to Veganskŷ Svet for lunch again! Darren got the curried fried rice again, and I got a noodle dish which was delicious. Yum yum yum. Oh the joys of having a vegetarian restaurant just down the road! After lunch we were still feeling lazy so just went back to the hostel where we played guitar, snoozed and were generally lazy. Towards dinner time we were hanging out with Joe (until he left to hang out with his friends) and the English girls they'd met the night before, Laura and Hannah. A young American guy joined us too, Jefferson. The girls and Jeff were cooking up some dinner (which was vego!) and we ended up eating with them. After dinner we all walked to the supermarket together to get some drinks. We ended up getting two big beers each, or all different types, as well as some cheese, then went back to the hostel to drink them. We all shared all the beers and had a bit of a rating system going to find our favorites. We attempted to play a few drinking games and card games, and had a good chat with each other. When we finished all the drinks, we headed back to the supermarket, with our empty bottles, and got some money back from them for recycling, and used that money (plus a little more) to get one more drink each. We went up to the cool disappearing guy statues at the end of the street and sat up the top and had our drink there. There was a homeless guy who was passed out in a pile of his own urine at the bottom of the steps, and he had the cutest little dog that was jumping around, playing and having a great time by himself, but keeping a close eye on his owner at the same time. After making sure the guy was okay, we finished our drinks on the steps and had some more good convo before heading back to the hostel. We left our bottles with the homeless guy so he could get the money for them, then headed back to the hostel. Laura had fallen in love with the dog, and ended up going back up there to leave the guy the leftover pasta we had, and a bit of bread for the dog. Back at the hostel, we chilled out in the lounge just for a little while longer, and waited until Laura made it back, then headed off to bed.
