the weather was great today. our plan today was to catch a train to Ghent. as we walked through Brugge centre we found it had turned into a big fruit vege and meat market - unfortunatly we didnt have a kitchen so couldnt cook a yummy meal.
we arrived in Ghent not knowing what direction to head, when we finally reached the city centre we were amazed by what we saw. There were churches everywhere and even saw a castle. we looked inside some of the churches- unfortunatly couldnt take photos but the insides were really impressive. we picked up a brouchure which led us around and explained what we were seeing. our main stop was the Castle of Counts built in 1180 we had a good look around learning about the history of the different rooms. in one section they had all these examples of how prisioners used to be tortered + killed it was quite sick.
once we arrived back into Brugge we had a look around a carnival which was better than NZs.
